"March winds and April showers, bring forth May flowers"

Charlotte has been busy getting our raised veg beds and polytunnel in the Bee Shack garden ready for new plantings, with a bit of help from Ollie, our German Shepherd dog! We try and grow as much as we can here to be used in our delicious team and Bee Shack day lunches and we're hoping we'll get a bumper crop this year. As well as planting vegetable seeds, potato chittings and fruit bushes, Charlotte and Graham have also been busy hedge laying fuelled by lots of hot mugs of cocoa and, of course, cake. You can follow more of our BeeGreen news at Charlotte's BeeGreen blog which has some top tips on all things green. She also has a mean repertoire in ye olde country sayings!

The A-Team

We're very proud of our team here at Honeybuns. They're a hard working and dedicated bunch of people and we'd like to share them with you.

Graham is our Honeybuns nomad, working in the bakery, packing and anywhere else needed, as well as attending food fairs and tasting days. He joined Honeybuns 4 years ago.

Tell us a bit about yourself?

After many years of working in London for design agencies, I moved to Dorset illustrating children's books. Sadly I was made redundant and that was when I joined Honeybuns. Although I still do freelance design and illustration, I really enjoy my varied working life here. I am a keen nature lover and do lots of bird surveys for the RSPB.

What inspires your artwork?

My illustrations range from patterened animal linework to very detailed pencil drawings. I love patterns in nature and the character of old buildings.

What artwork are you currently doing for Honeybuns?

At the moment I'm lettering a few signs for our signpost and doing an aerial view of Honeybuns HQ.

What is your favourite cake?

I love the Chocolate Caramel Shortbread. The taste of the chocolate and caramel is fantastic!

Things we love

Honeypot

A charity providing ongoing support for vulnerable children between the ages of 5 and 12. We started working with them in 2009 and as well as featuring them on our Almond Moon cakeboard, have also hosted picnics for Honeypot children here at the farm.

Shaftesbury Feastival

Come and meet Graham at our stall here on Saturday 7th May, take in the glorious views and walk down the famous Gold Hill from the Hovis advert.

Mr Rosenblum's List by Natasha Solomons

Dorset and our local Bulbarrow Hill feature in this book, so it's on our to-read list!

Things you love

"In a world with so much confected and poorly-procured flapjacks....I must say how I enjoyed chewing and tasting your flapjack and look forward to the other 'bookmarks' you include for me to see as reference material.."

P. Crumpton

"I tasted your products on BMI flights in the last week and was so impressed. This kind of food elevates airline catering.....I can't recommend your baking highly enough!"
